Saturday there will be panels for Rock Band 3 , Dance Central , Red Faction: Armageddon , Epic Mickey and Guild Wars 2 . While these panels may not be as big as the ones taking place on Friday, there should still be lots to keep your eyes

To celebrate the release, Lionhead Studios has today announced a special Launch Day content pack to be bundled alongside the game. These incentives, collected "inside a shiny, slip-on embossed case" include the following it

Frankly, any chance I can get to see the Rock Band Pro Guitar in action is fine by me. As a guitarist, I'm extremely interested to see the peripheral. Also, as a huge fan of Red Faction: Guerrilla , I can't wait to see what they do with the sequel, and get a glimpse at the insane amounts of destruction that will be possi

On top of new details for these previously announced games, we'll also get our first glimpse of 38 Studios' Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning . Todd McFarlane is acting as executive art director on the game. Now, when I heard about this game, I was actually quite excited. It remains to be seen though, how a company started by a Major League Baseball player, Curt Schilling, will fare when compared to companies such as Microsoft and Blizzard. Personally, I'm wondering how much experience someone from the MLB would have running a gaming company. We'll just have to see what happens when it comes time for the pa

That criteria is consonant with a Lionhead job listing which surfaced last year, brimming with suggestive language related to next-gen engine/graphical design. Aside from offering a greater resolution, the PC version also supports 3D. Many might argue that 3D is an unnecessary gimmick - but there's no denying it's a very pretty one. While the term, "eye-popping" might be overused - the 3D in the PC version literally makes the game's graphics pop, which adds an extra layer of icing to the c

It's hard to say that the Fable franchise was left on the best footing by 2012's Fable: The Journey . For one, The Journey , as mentioned, already took a significant departure from the Fable foundation with its implementation of Kinect-based gameplay and a more linear narrative. And when Lionhead hired former Cryptic Studios CEO John Needham to head up operations this April, parent company Microsoft was quick to extoll his "deep understanding" of "subscription-based, massively multi-player, client-based console and free-to-play online [experience

Over the years, especially after the success of the studio's first console title, Fable , back in 2004, Molyneux has become a fan-favorite figurehead for the gaming industry - similar to the "celebrity" of similar designers like Cliff Bleszinski, Hideo Kojima, or Gabe Newell. The "creative consultant" position is becoming a go-to move for developers lately, as major figure-heads leave fan-favoite studios in the midst of oft-delayed projects, since the situation is especially reminiscent of the recent Fumito Ueda/Team Ico change-

This event is such a big deal for some that it's probably more exciting than Christmas. The Electronic Entertainment Expo, more commonly known as E3, is the greatest event on every video gamer's calendar. It all began back in the 1990s to little fanfare. Despite the lack of attention, there were some monumental announcements. It was at this E3 that Sony made its debut to the gaming industry. The Sega Saturn was available to test play as well as the Nintendo Virtual Boy. Nintendo also revealed its Ultra 64 console, stating it will be ready next year. A few notable game titles at the show included Ridge Racer, Panzer Dragoon and Virtua Fighter. E3 started slow, but because this was the first expo dedicated to video games, more companies and fans realized they weren't going to miss out next year.

Opening up the month is the anticipated Fable Anniversary , a re-imagining of the hit RPG originally released on the Xbox nearly ten years ago. It arrives February 4th for the Xbox 360. On the 5th, internet "let's play" sensation Outlast will be available on the PS4. Later in the month, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII makes its way to the PS3 and Xbox 360 on February 11th. Rayman Legends jumps into the next-gen fray on the 18th, giving some much-needed platformer action to the PS4 and Xbox One. The Wii U gets its own taste of more platformer goodness on the 21st, when Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze swings into action. Finally, the long-awaited Thief reboot finds its way to all major platforms after nearly a decade of abse

Winter's still going on strong - for most of us, anyway - but the gaming release lull is slowly coming to an end! While most February releases are still geared towards the previous generation, there are a few next-gen games that should start the ball rolling for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Let's take a look at what February has to of

But if anything, The Journey did offer the series room to breath after its three main installments between 2005 and 2010. Creator Peter Molyneux has already promised that Fable 4 would come to fruition at some point in the foreseeable future, and a pair of job listings from Lionhead Studios suggests that a major series overhaul -- perhaps even a full reboot -- is underway for the next generat

It was the console to beat all others. Nintendo announced its new system two years before its unveiling. It was named, "Revolution" and had everybody buzzing. We now know it as the Wii-- a less than threatening name that is more suited to Nintendo's goals. "Revolution" served as a wonderful project title filled with mystery and excitement. However, according to Reggie Fils-Aime, it would not translate well under many other languages. Plus, a name like that would have probably caused an uproar from Americans stating the Japanese are out to get them again. That didn't happen...at least to my knowledge. Wii is friendlier and less menacing. Nintendo was right about the Wii's original namesake, it did cause quite the revolution in the video game industry because of its highly advanced motion sensor system.

Molyneux's choice to exit Lionhead also means he'll be leaving his position as creative head of Microsoft Studios Europe. He began his climb to the top of the mountain by selling floppy disks containing Atari and Commodore games. After he dabbled in the development of a business simulator and some database systems, Peter founded Bullfrog Productions. Their first title was Populous, an award-winning god game which sold more than 4 million copies. In 1997, he left Bullfrog to join Lionhead Studios where he found more success and immortalized himself as a designer. Black & White, a god game with strategy and fighting elements, won many awards and became the company's flagship title until few years later. Wherever Peter works will be innovative.
Hey, that title sounds familiar. GameWeek Magazine was a weekly publication by Cyberactive Media Group, Inc., that ran from 1995 until 2002. The magazine featured interviews with the game industry's leading professionals, stories on the latest trends and of course reviews and previews. However, instead of scoring games on their playability, the magazine focused on their marketability. Because of GameWeek's frequent production, they could occupy more niches including job openings and offer full coverage of E3. The company decided to close production after a decline in advertising spending affected the market. Although no longer in circulation, the magazine had a long run and was never unseated by its competitors. From the tech demo of Halo 2 in 2003 to the appearance of the first HD Gaming console in 2005. However, it is practically universally agreed that the Microsoft conference at E3 2010 had very little appeal to the fan base that the Xbox has worked so hard to amass.
