Aside from The Last of Us Part II , which will release on May 29th, Ghost of Tsushima is likely to be one of the last major PlayStation 4 exclusives, with the release of the PlayStation 5 set for the end of 2020. Following Sony's announcement that they would forego E3 yet again, and with no State of Play presentations currently announced, fans had begun to wonder when a release date or more information on the action-packed samurai title would emerge. The wait for Ghost of Tsushima has been a long one. Originally revealed at Paris Games Week 2017 , Ghost of Tsushima looked to be a dramatic, samurai epic with some sort of supernatural flair, as the trailer showed what appeared to be the game's protagonist seemingly disintegrating into smoke. The game wouldn't be shown off again until E3 2018, where an extended gameplay trailer gave a look at Ghost of Tsushima's impressive visuals and methodical combat. This trailer didn't show off any of the supernatural elements teased in the initial reveal, however, and Ghost of Tsushima E3 details revealed the game would not contain any supernatural elements, after all. In fact, the gameplay leaned more toward hyper-realism - or at least the kind of stylized realism shown in classic samurai mov


During the company's final State of Play livestream for 2019, Sony showed a 60-second teaser for a new Ghost of Tsushima trailer. The full trailer will be shown at The Game Awards on December 12 at 8:30 p.m. EST, but the State of Play clip gives viewers a glimpse at what the new trailer could reveal. It begins with a group of armored Mongolian soldiers, wheeling a heavy cart through a yellow forest on the island of Tsushima, Japan. They spot the game's masked protagonist, Jin, silhouetted dramatically against the light at the edge of the trees. They then draw their swords and charge, and Jin responds by drawing his and pulling a smoke bomb from his belt, slamming it into the ground below him. It's not much, but it does give viewers a hint at how Jin could develop into a "samurai commando, " gaining new tools (like smoke bombs) over the course of the g


The latest update on Ghost of Tsushima , provided by PlayStation , reveals several collector's editions and pre-order bonuses arriving alongside the game in June, with plenty of samurai-inspired items for fans to enjoy.
