Best First-Person Adventure Games Of All Time Ranked
Arthur and Lenny grow close throughout the course of the game, but he is tragically killed during the Saint Denis bank robbery. He was one of the gentler members of the gang, and his death served as a turning point in the tone of the st
Red Dead Redemption is a great game where players will fall in love with John Marston and the amazing details present in the recreation of the Wild West. After heading to Mexico and finding out about the revolution happening there, players will be introduced to Luisa Fort
I'm Commander Shepherd and this is my favorite AAA game of the decade. The first Mass Effect was a competently written RPG with a lackluster game behind it. The third Mass Effect was a slightly over-wrought story with a lackluster ending (but not riot-worthy lackluster, I should stress). Mass Effect 2 was perfect - the Seven Samurai hero collection, the brilliant characters, the fantastic cover-shooter RPG. I only wish the twist of the first ten minutes hadn't been spoiled by marketing - if I could have only gone in blin
Red Dead Redemption 2 will look the best it ever will on PC and can hit graphical and performance benchmarks consoles can only dream of provided Rockstar Games puts enough love and attention into the PC port. The beauty possible in the PC version will likely have people picking it up on their comput
The Dark Souls series paved the way for one of the best games of all time. Bloodborne is one of the best action RPGs of all time, with an incredible aesthetic, a combat system that rewards dedication and skill, and some of the greatest boss battles of all time. Bloodborne is a game that I’ve returned to several times over the years, as there is always something thrilling to be found at the end of the h
Firewatch was released in 2018, but it takes place in Wyoming in 1988, specifically, the section of Yellowstone National Park known as Shoshone National Forest where many wildfires really did take place. The player is Henry, the protagonist, and fire lookout, and the game follows him through some survivalist and investigative dr
In RDR2 , fans may have been excited to realize Dutch gives a very similar speech when he and Arthur are cornered by soldiers at a cliff overlooking a river. Dutch even starts his speech the same way, with "I have a plan. This is a good one." And he ends it the same way too, by throwing himself off the cl
Andrew Milton is a major character in Red Dead Redemption 2. Despite being considered to be an antagonist in the game, it was quite sad when he died, as he was essentially on the right side of the law. Milton is a top-ranking detective in the Pinkerton National Detective Agency who is brought in to track down the Van Der Linde gang after they rob a tr
Ross is the one who kills John, having betrayed him. Of course, this is a big deal for the player, as John is the protagonist, but what happens next is still quite sad. Jack avenges John in an epic duel with Ross, and the latter is gunned down mercilessly and dies by the rivers
Most players are huge fans of Leopold Strauss . The man preyed on the weak, giving them loans in their time of need only to exploit them and either take high interest repayments or beat them into submission until they coughed up the c
Part of the CD-ROM puzzle and adventure game trend that was popular in the 1990s, The 7th Guest also introduced the concept of Lovecraftian horror to first-person games. Like Myst, it uses 3D graphics and video cut scenes to progress through the st
The shooting was a big point of contention with the game when it released on console, but this issue could be less of a problem simply due to how most players on PC will control Arthur Morgan during his adventures in the Wild West of Amer
In the epilogue portion of RDR2 , you'll run across a character voiced by Steven Ogg, the very same man who voices Trevor Phillips in GTA V . It isn't just his voice, though. The character has the same mannerisms and personality as the violent, hyperactive GTA protagonist. He's even also named Trevor Phillips. It could be possible this is some ancestor of Trevor's, maybe a great-grandfather. Or maybe Trevor just found a way to time travel back to the Old W
There are only two minor problems with the way that controls are adapted for the PC. One is that mouse click the next page prompts are initially unintuitive. When the left mouse button is highlighted for a prompt, it may seem like the right is, and vice versa. It’s easy enough once you figure it out through trial and error, but it’s still poor UI design. The other problem is that the controls often have the player using smaller fingers to hold down buttons that would have probably been pressed with thumbs in console control schemes, which is somewhat awkw
Since PC gamers have been waiting for their chance to experience Rockstar Games' latest AAA release, playing at launch will ensure a healthy player base for the online portion of the game. Now, how long this player base will stay attached to the game is a concern that will be talked about later, but at or near launch there's nothing to worry ab
