Third-party releases will no doubt be important for Google Stadia, but Google knows it needs high-quality exclusive games if it hopes to succeed in the market. As a result, Google has charged former Ubisoft and EA executive Jade Raymond with heading a studio that will focus on first-party exclusive games for the Stad

Doom Eternal picks up after the events of Doom 2016. Bad things appear to have gone down between humans and demons, but id was mum on specific details. The developer’s philosophy behind Doom Eternal’s story is similar to the previous game. The A-story is about getting players through the game and having a blast while doing it. The B-story provides depth, context and additional lore to the proceedings.

Even without Sony this year, E3 2019 continued to deliver big trailers, major surprises, and a wealth of new information regarding many of the biggest and highly anticipated releases from companies like Bethesda, Ubisoft, Microsoft, and more. Unlike last year, not a lot of studios opted to show gameplay in their trailers, meaning the majority of what people saw at the show was CG. Whether that's due to the upcoming next generation of consoles or the hesitancy to show something too early is anyone's gu

Outside of Final Fantasy 7 , the other major title fans were anticipating from Square Enix was Marvel's Avengers . While this game had been previously announced, nearly nothing had been shown. The E3 2019 trailer gave fans their first look at the game and its five starting heroes: Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, and Black Widow. As the trailer reveals, a celebration turns deadly, splitting up the team until five years later when new threats force them to reassem

"Whether or not folks realize it, this is the hell on Earth time for us with E3," Hines told us during our conversation at PAX East. Many other outlets saw this "hell on Earth" comment specifically and thought it was a surefire tease that Hines was casually dropping into our conversation to let fans know that a new DOOM game would indeed be appearing at E3. Turns out, Hines wasn't playing four-dimensional chess in the middle of our conversat

So what have we learned? When developers or publishers use casual phrases that might be related to their franchises, there's a good chance most of the time that it means nothing. That said, Hines did tell me tonight that he thinks Bethesda might be on the BRINK of something new, so, you never know

While the new gameplay is enough to drive some players to part with their cash already, id Software went on to confirm that this won't be the only multiplayer mode that Eternal has. Given that 2016's game was criticized for its deathmatch multiplayer, expect id to have at least tweaked that maligned mode in some way. Who knows, maybe developers have even squeezed in a full-blown battle royale mode for 100 players to crown only one winner on the ruins of Ea

At its own EA Play E3 2019 event, Electronic Arts gave fans their first real look at Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order on Saturday at EA Play. However, a day later during Microsoft's press conference, a new trailer was shown off revealing gameplay moments from the lengthy demo as well as new footage of Cal not previously seen. Plenty of story details were also strewn in throughout including the game's many support characters like the rebel Saw Gerrera , who many Star Wars fans will remember from other media such as films, TV, and com

Having gone quiet since the release of Dishonored 2 and Death of the Outsider , Arkane Studios returned to E3 2019 to premiere the first trailer for its newest IP called Deathloop . The stylish and action-heavy trailer reveals two characters who appear to be in constant conflict with one another in a never-ending loop on an island known as Blackreef. These two assassins continually battle each other in an effort to protect what they believe in either breaking or keeping the cycle al

If anyone thinks the idea sounds a little familiar, it pays homage to the Souls series. Heading back to 2009, FromSoftware's Demon's Souls included the idea of players taking control of the Black Phantom to join the fun. As the series moved on into the three Dark Souls games, the invasion mechanic remained a popular part of multiplayer and cooperative gamep

The second of two Smash Bros DLC reveals, this one came at near the end of Nintendo's E3 2019 presentation. It smartly reused King K. Rool's reveal trailer, this time putting the King inside of Donkey Kong's house with Diddy. The trailer played out similarly with the Duck Hunt Dog trolling the group until Banjo and Kazooie finally showed up and revealed their inclusion at long last. For many fans, it was also a cool moment to see King K. Rool, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Banjo, and Kazooie all together once again considering their shared history under the development studio R
